“I am convinced that nothing we do is more important than hiring and developing people. At the end of the day you bet on people, not on strategies.”

– Larry Bossidy

The Talent Disconnect

In speaking to hundreds of CEOs since 2015, we consistently ask them a simple question, “What will it take to get your company to the next level?” Whether it’s a new round of funding, new revenue target or a successful IPO. The answer we almost always get is centered around their people.

When we ask the follow up question, tell me about the meetings you’ve had with your exec leadership team about your people and how to have a better talent strategy, the answer is that those meetings rarely if never happen.

With the costs of hiring top talent, onboarding and retaining employees at an alltime high, CEOs know they need to commit to building a talent strategy. They often just don’t know where to start.

Leaders need someone to think with when it comes to intentionally investing in talent.

We ripped up the playbook and wrote a new one based on the knowledge that a company’s talent strategy will ultimately be what determines their success or failure.

We do two things based on an old saying “Give a person a fish and you feed them for one day. Teach a person to fish and you feed them for a lifetime.”

  1. Through SomethingNew Recruiting we use a unique, proven approach to find companies talent that will ensure their success. We think of this as giving someone the fish.

  2. Through our advisory services that we call SomethingNew Labs we teach companies using proprietary tools and decades of experience how to build a rock solid talent strategy built on three critical pillars; talent acquisition, onboarding and retention. We think of this as teaching you to fish.
